Kiddos, your daddy took us to the NC Art Museum on a field trip and we saw The Worlds of M.C Escher and Leonardo da Vinci's Codex Leicester. What a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon! It is amazing to see the minds of two men God created and what they created with that mind. Thanks, Daddy/Love!!

Happy Birthday to me!
I had such a great time for my birthday yesterday! We jumped at Defy Gravity-a trampoline park, I ate lunch with Robin-delicious, we had time at home, Justin and the kids created a yummy yummy dinner of steak tips, bacon/molasses green beans, roasted garlic grilled potatoes and blueberry pie(make sure you eat some of the steak tips from The Meat House-such a great treat!), I received lots of happy birthday wishes, talked with family, facetimed our new little niece-Qunicey we love you! and I went to bed full and thankful for what I have! Truly blessed. Truly blessed.
Oh and Owen, I loved the balloons you gave me! And Katie, I love my new journal and 4 colorful pens. Just perfect. You both know just what I love!

Dress to the Nines and BE ROYAL
Fun...So much fun! The "Stein" family all made their way out to the K for a Royals game. Wahoooo! And our Sunday game did not disappoint. The Royals won big time-some home runs, dress to the Nines day, Family Fun Day, Negro League Day with free Fedora hats to boot! We had a wonderful time and are thankful for this great relaxing memory with my side of the family.
Kiddos, your Aunt Pie and I made your matching baseball shirts. It was fun to do a project together. I'm glad we went to Lawrence to Hobby Lobby to get the decal at 7:58 and they closed at 8. We were those shoppers. :)
Faces of our 7 year old
Don't mess with Paxton :)
The field was so beautiful! And the grounds crew was dressed like they would have in the 30's, knickers and all. We thought it was super neat!
Owen, you found the little K field and waited your turn so that you could "play ball". You did well! I think you hit 3 of the 4 balls that were pitched to you...boy do you love sports. I think it just dawned on you that there is much to experience in the world of baseball, basketball, football, etc
Run O Run
Owen, Daddy was instructing you a bit and you soaked it.
And your facial expression here draws my heart in...I see you accepting advice so well and little one, you are growing up!
Might be one of my favorite photos. There's plenty of emotions here for me-trust, love, sharing of passions, focus, intensity, rest, joy
love these cheeks
Oh hello, Hipsters. You two make a sweeeeet couple.
Home Run...allllll right!
And running the real bases was worth the wait. Owen you took off as soon as you could and ran as fast as you could.
Love these people
And two funny cousin moments

Umstead Park Looong Hike
We just went on the best looong (not intentionally long :) hike with our favorite Muse friends in Umstead park. We think we hiked ummmm, about 6 miles for about 2 hrs? :) ...at one point all four kids were bring carried on shoulders or backs, but we loved it! We also grabbed some delicious ice cream from Fresh. Yummy.
We told the kids thank you for not complaining much on our looong hike and Owen responded, "My little bit of grumbling was actually telling myself...I can do it, I can do it!"

Another Parade Adventure
We headed downtown, after soccer, to the St. Paddy's Day Parade and the kids enjoyed it so much.
It's becoming a fun family thing to do...hit up the parades around town! There is normally a spot to be found to sit and watch. Its a fun atmosphere and if the weather is nice-which it was, we enjoyed being outside!
It is a fun parade with a bunch of crazy entries.
Grandmas twirling batons
Extreme Roller Derby Team
Helping Hands Missions Band and Dancing Team
Mermaids
Old Cars
Beautiful Horses
It warms my heart to see Owen run out into the street fetching parade treasures for Katie. Awesome job buddy! #himetime #nextgenmen
UVA Won!
It's ACC Championship Sunday...we're blessed to be here enjoying the game! Cheering for VA today!
We are now "jump on the bandwagon fans" for the University of Virginia! They play a really solid game that was a ton of fun to watch. Plus we have heard from good sources (thank you Burtons) that the coach is a solid follower of Jesus. And it is evident even to the announcers that the players play unselfishly and do what their coach asks them to do....they trust him. What a great example of living out what you believe.
UVA-ALL THE WAY!!
(Thank you to my husband for allowing me to use what he is posting on FB for our blog. I'm working on the photos on our computer to post those...but right now it is running so slow :( I'm sure when I delete some of our 20,000 photos it will run faster. :)

A Bit of Fun
A few Saturdays ago we went with TCC to the Durham Bulls game! The kids soaked in every moment. Owen HAD to bring his glove for any balls and Katie HAD to look sporty. I am so excited as our kids get a bit older to do things like this. They got to stay up until it was way dark.....fun times in the Hime home!
We stayed for about 1.5 hours and thoroughly enjoyed it!

Greatest Show on Earth
We took the kids to the circus yesterday. It was such a treat! I can't remember when I last went, but I know it was a kid. Mom, do you remember? And Justin went within the last 10 years, but can't recall when.
Anyway it was a last minute decision at 10 pm on Friday night to buy tickets. :) We all really enjoyed it. It lasted two hours-Katie was enthralled the whole time and Owen was entertained until the last 40 minutes or so.
Katie's favorite part were some clowns doing a skit with ladders and a lightbulb and the spinning dancers, mine were the tumblers that flipped forever, Justin's were the amazing elephants and Owen loved the tiny ponies.
I don't think we would go back for a handful of years, but overall it was really fun!

Saturday morning outting
We ventured out way over to Durham to Duke Gardens to enjoy the BEAUTIFUL weather we had over the weekend. It was a nice reprieve from our 100's last week and today. It was actually 97 at 10 am one day and then 77 at 9am the next! Whew.
And at DGardens we were not disappointed. We explored, smelled flowers, picked up sticks and rocks and watched the ducks float by on the pond. We didn't have any discipline issues which made our adventure even better. :)

I would have gotten a photo of just Owen, but alas no way did he want that!
Love these two cutie pies...and I think the top photo shows some deviousness going on in the mind of our son... :)
Then we went to the Mad Hatter for lunch. Yummmmmylicious!
I think we all liked our food!
Yessssss, coffee and a scone, delicious!
Our two handsome guys.
