Soccer Joys

Spring Soccer.
(Not sure if this ever posted, since it is in our draft folder..if not here it is for memories!)

I don't think Katie has been more excited to try something then soccer.  One of the things we have tried to do as parents for sports and other extra curricular activities, is to wait until our kids ask to try something.  And for the past year Katie has asked and asked again to play soccer.  In the fall we missed the deadline to play so we opted to wait for spring and then give it a go!  And Katie is loving it. She couldn't wait to buy her shin guards, socks, size 3 ball and some cleats. The program she is playing with is Kickn 4 the Cross and she's in the instructional league.  They do 30 minutes of practice, 5 minutes of devotions and 25 minutes of playing.  I wish you all could see her play!  She gives it her all (running all the time with her long lanky legs :) and so far has loved every minute of it.  She is getting into the game, trying not to use her hands, learning that it is okay to steal the ball and even had a goal last week!
Every week she is wishing and praying that it is sunny the next Saturday so the games aren't canceled.
We LOVE her excitement and are super glad she is playing well. What a treat to be parents on the sidelines cheering for our Pips!  Go Katie Go!

Fishing. Bullseyes. 4Wheelers

I can't believe I have so much to post still about KS.  We had a great time and here is one more post about Grandpa and Mimi's house.
We went fishing.
We went to shoot targets.
The kids cleaned the 4Wheeler with Grandpa.
Great Day!

Owen said his low of the day was not catching anything.  "I didn't catch a fish or a stick or even pond moss". When you are four even a stick would have counted!

Owen you wanted a photo of each mark you hit!

What a neat moment.  This was Justin's 22 from when he was a kid.  :)  Love that the kids got to use it as well as me!

After all our fun around the 'homestead' our final chore of the day was to clean up the 4Wheeler.  Who doesn't love getting wet!

Dress to the Nines and BE ROYAL

Fun...So much fun!  The "Stein" family all made their way out to the K for a Royals game.  Wahoooo!  And our Sunday game did not disappoint.  The Royals won big time-some home runs, dress to the Nines day, Family Fun Day, Negro League Day with free Fedora hats to boot! We had a wonderful time and are thankful for this great relaxing memory with my side of the family.
Kiddos, your Aunt Pie and I made your matching baseball shirts.  It was fun to do a project together.  I'm glad we went to Lawrence to Hobby Lobby to get the decal at 7:58 and they closed at 8.  We were those shoppers.  :)

Faces of our 7 year old

 Don't mess with Paxton :)
The field was so beautiful!  And the grounds crew was dressed like they would have in the 30's, knickers and all.  We thought it was super neat!
Owen, you found the little K field and waited your turn so that you could "play ball".  You did well!  I think you hit 3 of the 4 balls that were pitched to you...boy do you love sports. I think it just dawned on you that there is much to experience in the world of baseball, basketball, football, etc
 Run O Run

Owen, Daddy was instructing you a bit and you soaked it.
And your facial expression here draws my heart in...I see you accepting advice so well and little one, you are growing up!

Might be one of my favorite photos.  There's plenty of emotions here for me-trust, love, sharing of passions, focus, intensity, rest, joy
 love these cheeks

Oh hello, Hipsters.  You two make a sweeeeet couple.
 Home Run...allllll right!

And running the real bases was worth the wait.  Owen you took off as soon as you could and ran as fast as you could.

 Love these people
 And two funny cousin moments
