Bread making with kiddos...

Went really well today! We made two soaked loaves of spelt bread..yummmmm-except that we forgot to add the honey-bummer!

But our banana bread was terrific!

Cooking with kids-though it is MORE work and it takes longer can sure leave a bunch of fun memories implanted in my mind.

KS

Getting to KS was a trip...we were stuck in Newark NJ for SIX hours (we missed our connection by 10 minutes-not to mention I was that crazy mom who ran through the airport, pushing Katie in the stroller and holding Owen on my back in the Ergo...Errrrrr ).
Not a lovely airport. But seeing that we got into KS at 10:45 pm the kids did a great job. We made a new friend (he was going to GA), watched a lot of videos, observed a TON of airplanes coming and going which was neat, people watched, read some books, ate granola bars that were ridiculously priced and counted our blessings that we were even able to jump on a plane within 48 hours.

people and video watching

making new friends...

watching airplane after airplane take off

almost stir crazy while we ate a sandwich

oh the silly faces

and the next day finally arrived...Katie and Owen rode everything Grandpa Stein had that went vroom!

they were happy (and so were the kids :)!

Owen and a Mimi hug

faster, faster, GO faster

that facial expression is Owen's 'serious riding' face

another Mimi hug!

And....MORE to come!

Rafiki

SO enjoyed seeing you - it was great to give you a hug and catch-up-even if it was short, our kids were running around everywhere and we were in Cabelas! It was WORTH it!

I can't believe that since our initial 1/2 marathon in college you've run 8 full marathons and now are working on running Boston. I've got a lot to catch up on. :) Maybe we should train for something down here????!!!!

Talk again soon...!

Funny Silly Friends

Right before we left for KS, the Muses came and played and brought dinner to help.
The girls sure had fun!
Catie Beth is going for the 70's look and Katie is just going for being super silly.
Robin and I hope that you two become great friends someday!

*Robin and Hunter-words do not describe your friendship to Justin and I. We are extremely grateful for your wise words, yummy dinners, sharing sorrow with us and for the constant love you have shown. May God bless you as you have encouraged us.

I'll journal more soon...

We are back from KS. It's been difficult and yet, the grace of God has been thick.
There is plenty to do still....
But we are thankful for the prayers, family, friends and above all the care and love of our Savior to guide, comfort, and bring peace.
