And we are off to the Mountains!!

We decided to take our first family vacation to the mountains this weekend! We took Katie to the apple orchard and stayed at our very favorite B & B-The Inn Around The Corner. Katie did very well, with a few fussy spells. She thoroughly enjoyed seeing all the other kids and being in the cooler weather. If you can tell the shirt that she is wearing says..."I love apple trees". Below are a few of the pictures that we took, enjoy! (still borrowing the internet...)

Our little apple!

Our favorite pizza place in Black Mountain, "My Father's Pizza"
It was chilly Sunday morning about 59 degrees and thought we would bundle our little one up...it was also 6:00 in the morning which is why it is still dark outside. We are ready for the fall temps!

This is our favorite orchard! Sky Top Orchards and it is at the top of a mountain about 1 mile up. It is beautiful! We have been going here for about 3 years and can't wait until Katie can really enjoy picking her own apples.... :)

Run Gabi and Sean, Run!!!

Well, Katie got her first taste of a Cross Country meet this past Thursday when we went to cheer on my old runners from when I coached at FA. They did a FANTASTIC job! Gabi and Sean who are both in 8th grade are great runners and challenged everybody! (Anne-Marie wasn't able to come to this race...) Gabi outran all the girls and captured 1st place, go Gabi go...and Sean finished a few behind 1st for the boys...I think he got 4th, super job! Sean got some encouragement from Justin as he ran which I think made him run faster! :) I forgot to get their times, but know that right now they both can put me in the dust. I think that Justin is going to run in the Autism run in downtown Raleigh with them in Oct. and I will make sure I post that too! Last year in the Autism run all three of them placed and won money!

I love this group of kids and am so excited to see they have enough runners for a girls team and a boys team. Last year we only had a three dedicated runners now they have 14! Also For those of you that don't know what that means to have a "team", a team is a group of at least 5 girls and then at least 5 guys. Runners can also run as individuals too. So in CC runners place as a team and as individuals.

And Mrs. Moss is doing a wonderful job taking over for me. She loves the sport and the kids as much as I do! GO CC!

Katie with the runners and her new favorite place to ride!

This is Katie's new favorite place to ride! We got this backpack from some friends and she LOVES to ride in it and fall asleep. We have an Ergo on order and will post about that later, but for now we have this! And the last two pictures are of Gabi and Sean after the meet. We love these kids!

Hey all,
I hope you all enjoy the recent posts! I am sorry they are short on stories and there are so many of them, but the internet connection is down at our place and so we are borrowing it to post what we have been doing this past week and 1/2. Enjoy all there is and we hope to be online really soon.

Katie is rolling over... this is the slow version since I am not able to upload videos yet...

I think the funnest picture is definitely the last one as she realizes she rolled over and is looking straight up! :)

Pops in the Park!

As a child I had the opportunity to go to Pops in the Park with my parents and here in Raleigh they have the same thing. People bring along a picnic and listen to the wonderful symphony play really good classical music! The music is always fun and there are people everywhere!

She did have an opinion about one song though...
