You are EIGHT sweet girl!

Dearest Pippers,
Your Daddy and I can't believe you are eight-the years have simply flown by!  God has sustained and grown us both!  You are a beautiful girl and we are so blessed to be your parents.
You are still our huggy, holding hand girl.
You still love any food we make.
You and your brother are still best friends.
You love Jesus.
You love to do art and create a party.
You will dance for hours and pick out your favorite songs too.
You successfully finished your first year of homeschool and 1st grade was a success.
You are contemplating either keeping your hair long or cutting it short so it is easier to take care of each day.
You often don't remember to do your chores, but are slowly taking responsibility for your things.  You do a few chores around the house such as the dishwasher, folding clothes, wiping down the counter in the bathroom and vacuuming a few spaces in the house.
Spelling is your least favorite subject.
You do enjoy math and you adore being read to...and your reading is coming right along-mysteries are a favorite as well as princess stories.
You want pjs just like me which I love.
You still aren't a late sleeper, but you need about 11 hours of sleep to wake up in a happy mood.
Your favorite toys are all your baby doll and your jump rope...though a close second is the fort out back behind the tall bushes and the hammock.
You still are tall for your age.
And your biggest thrill of being eight is, no more booster seat.
Sweet Katie Grace, we love you with all our hearts.  And our prayer is that you would know more and more of Jesus, that we would love you better and that this next year would be the best yet.  LOVE YOU, Mommy, Daddy and Owen

Oh Spelling, How I DON'T Love You :)

Dear sweet 1st grader, whom I have the pleasure of teaching this year,

Spelling is not a favorite subject.  There are to many rules and sounds and challenges with spelling.  But alas, dear girl you are learning the tricks of this subject.
Mimi, who was recently out here teaching you school, taught you to take a picture in your mind of the word and then look up in the air to the left to "see" the word in your mind.
Yay! It is is slowly coming along and the words are forming in your mind.
If I am honest, spelling is awful for me as well.  I love English, but hearing phonically and then knowing all the rules baffles me.
So lets keep working together and we shall spell together with confidence (or with spell check and the dictionary :)

The Many Faces of O

with strawberry stained lips and crumbs on his cheeks, our Hops is full of faces from roars, to smiles, to giggles, to serious handsome looks...
We love you Owen Bradley Hime!
