I snagged some family photos

After the funeral we had a blessed time eating lunch and hanging out with family. It was a BEAUTIFUL day. We are thankful for how well everything went!
The Katzfey's (Justin's extended family) made a delicious lunch for all that wanted to come after the service-Thank you! It. Was. Yummmmmmo!
Here are the photos that I snagged while everyone was around. We are bummed that we didn't get Cousin Camiryn and Lizzie (and baby 3) too, but hopefully we can get that photo someday soon!

On the Green Side...

For most of our two 1/2 weeks stay, we spent the nights at Nana and Papa's house (Uncle Drew's too :) Justin had set up all the papers he needed from there as well we got to see Aunt Brandi (and Mr. Silas) a lot! Just like at Mimi and Grandpa's house-which we were at everyday-and was wonderful-we had lots of fun and made some fun memories.

Thanks Nana and Papa for letting us stay. We appreciate your generosity and love-TONS!

that's my dawg

loving daddy time

awwww....Happy Happy Happy Birthday Brandi! You ARE BEAUTIFUL!

Owen, hanging with the boys.

So special...Nana took Katie with her and Aunt Brandi to have their toes done. Katie was THRILLED to have pretty toes with white flowers. :)

Nana time!

One of the naps Katie took was into deep dream land. :) I couldn't wake her up for about 20 minutes. This photo on the couch was after I moved her from the bed to try and rouse her little self. Whew. Play hard-sleep hard.

We also got the blessing of attending a KU football game. WHAT A TREAT! It was so much fun to be around the college atmosphere. Not to mention Justin grew up a Jayhawk and it was neat to bring the kids on a beautiful Saturday. (maybe we could make the drive out to KSU sometime too!) We are thankful to Uncle Jim to was able to get us tickets and fed us delicious food at the tailgate. Thank you Thank you!

Katie for sure LOVED the cheerleaders and the band.

Thanks Cousin Jacob for entertaining Katie with popcorn through the rain slicker that she and Justin borrowed from Uncle Jim. What a fun memory for them!

Can you tell Katie LOVED Alex? She is Justin's cousin going to school at KU. Katie LOVED being with her. And Alex-thank you for loving on our Katie. :)

More to come soon!

Paxton YOU are handsome!

Katie gave P a toy to play with. :)
She also needed to type an email while holding the baby. Ha!
Owen wanted desperately to hold Pax too. oh so sweet!
One of our goals for going back to KS was to get come cuddle time with Paxton-and see Aunt Pie (sorry Uncle Dustin you had to work). And we did! My sister graciously drove to see us and spent much of her time off from teaching, until her maternity leave is over-hanging out in eastern KS. :) We are SUPER thankful we got to see you guys. Jessa-thank you for driving and staying and driving and staying some more. Dustin-thanks for sharing your son and wife.
Can't wait to see you again!
Love, Uncle Justin, Aunt Gi, and Cousins Katie and Owen
PS Pie-you look great as a new mommy!
PPS Paxton-we can't believe you are already 2 months old! Happy 2 month birthday.

KS

Getting to KS was a trip...we were stuck in Newark NJ for SIX hours (we missed our connection by 10 minutes-not to mention I was that crazy mom who ran through the airport, pushing Katie in the stroller and holding Owen on my back in the Ergo...Errrrrr ).
Not a lovely airport. But seeing that we got into KS at 10:45 pm the kids did a great job. We made a new friend (he was going to GA), watched a lot of videos, observed a TON of airplanes coming and going which was neat, people watched, read some books, ate granola bars that were ridiculously priced and counted our blessings that we were even able to jump on a plane within 48 hours.

people and video watching

making new friends...

watching airplane after airplane take off

almost stir crazy while we ate a sandwich

oh the silly faces

and the next day finally arrived...Katie and Owen rode everything Grandpa Stein had that went vroom!

they were happy (and so were the kids :)!

Owen and a Mimi hug

faster, faster, GO faster

that facial expression is Owen's 'serious riding' face

And....MORE to come!
