Maine...Chapter 4, Lobstering!

One of the fun things my parents took the crew on was a coast tour complete with lobstering!  It was a great warm day to be out on the water and it was really neat to learn about lobsters.  We loved our tour!
We learned it is difficult to get a licensee to fish for lobster...that there are many stipulations on what size of lobster can be kept-not to big or small, female or male...and that there used to be so many lobsters that prisoners were fed them for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
Here's our tour!

Conversations to come

Katie recently called her friend Catie Beth who started Kindergarten a few weeks before Katie does at Bayleaf.  Here are a few quotes I overheard as she had it on speaker.

"Thanks for the advice Catie Beth...I think I'll have fun in Kindergarten!"

When asked about what was hard or difficult in Kindergarten, Catie Beth responded, "The really hard homework is writing your name five times!"

Catie Beth also told Katie about her schools discipline program and it involves stars and trying to keep those stars on green.  She told Katie, "But it is also hard if your star goes to red because if you go on red you go to the principle's office!" Katie oooohed back in a very excited voice, "Maybe you'll go there someday!"  To which Catie Beth said, "Oh NO, its really BAD!"

I can see these conversations happening as they get older and right now it is pretty priceless!

Of fresh blueberries picked this year-delicious!
We found a new farm..Herndon Farms, yay!

Maine...Chapter 3

There were so many things we explored while in Maine.  We picked blueberries, tried our hand at crabbing, read, hiked, were mesmerized by the small town harbors, art galleries, shops and taffy pulling, oooh'd and ahhh'd over the flowers that trailed from everywhere, wrestled, enjoyed the workbooks Mimi brought and tried to soak it all in!
Here's to just hanging around!
