Double the P A R T Y!

We partied on Saturday morning for Katie's third birthday and Melissa's graduation. I am in love with doing breakfast parties. It is delicious, easy, and the kiddos are normally in a good mood. We had great weather and super company.
We had a great time!

Our birthday girl

On Saturday morning we had a family celebration for Katie! She recieved a lot of fun things (swimsuit, goggles, puzzle, princess pjs) then had Madame Blueberry French Toast, homemade cupcakes with Laney and lots of swinging outside with Daddy. :)

What a FUN day to celebrate the last three years of our Katie's life!

Happy Birthday Dear Katie, Happy Birthday to you!

*Special thanks to Katilin at 2point5d photography for taking some fantastic photos of our kids and family!

Oh how we LOVE you little girl! It has been an amazing ride these last three years. You have gone from our little, always awake, constantly smiling baby, to our little one that never stops running, spinning, swinging, talking, singing, ...
We are in LOVE with you. You are God's gift to us. We are praying that your heart is softened first and foremost for the things of God, ultimately for Himself. We pray that you will see your need for Him and turn to Him. We pray your life be used for His glory and that many people will see Jesus in you. We cannot wait for this next year. It is going to be marvelous!

Lets see you are 39 inches tall right now and weigh 36 pounds. You love to eat just about anything (hummus-carrots, creamy goat cheese-crackers, peanut butter-apple, granola butter, hop hops, eggs, cinnamon/butter/honey-bread, , except you are not a huge fan of pizza. But that's okay since Momma loves to eat pizza-I can eat your left overs. :)

"I'm right here"

Brittany was kindly playing with Katie...this was the place to hide, adult and child alike!
"Can you find them?"

With a day like this

Last Saturday looked like this...

Katie told Daddy, "It is a beautiful day, perfect for ice cream! What do you think Daddy?".
Daddy agreed.
How could we not get some ice cream to share!

Chompers

Owen has 6 teeth! It was a very snotty 5 weeks as he broke through his gums 6 teeth all within 5 weeks. He got his two bottom teeth first at 5.5 months (katie got hers at 4.5 months) then following that all four top teeth came in. Whew... His smile is changing into a little boys pearly whites.

I need to celebrate it!

After her nap Justin gave Katie one of her birthday cupcakes, this was heard...

K-Daddy, I need to celebrate it!

D-What?

K-I need to celebrate it! I need to put coconut and sprinkles on it.

Katie would NOT eat her cupcake without celebrating it. Daddy figured out that "celebrating" was putting the coconut cream icing on top with sprinkles. I guess a plain cupcake is not good enough when celebrating a birthday!

Journaling-all the topics I want to write about

...we have had many sick bugs here at the house. Be GONE bug!

But as we have been nursing allergies, croup, fevers, coughs, poor attitudes, lack of sleep...many things have been running through my mind. They are topics that I want to write about. Ones that I want to someday look back and see the faithfulness of God to see us through. But until I have time, I'll just record them here and get to them if I ever have a spare moment...

1. Distractions of the modern day momma.

2. How sleep-the lack of, plays into our kids getting sick.

3. A few of my favorite things.

4. The Gospel NEEDS and MUST be preached to myself everyday. I cannot live on crumbs.

5. Longing for heaven.

6. Maybe the problem is not my kids, it's me.

7. May my life be one of Prayer and may I truly have a mother's heart.

8. Take things off my plate, or the plates are going to crash and so is my attitude.

9. We tell Katie to have a happy heart, shouldn't I?

10. Jesus give us strength for this day. There is joy in Your name. There is healing in Your name. It's all in HIS name.

Mark. Set. Moonwalk. Swing your arm back. Go!

Katie in into running in her gogo (tennis) shoes. She's got it down!
It has got to be about the cutest thing to watch her run and to hear the running of her little (size 9!) feet throughout the house.
Precious moments.

I am glad I cleaned the bathroom!

No idea why Owen decided to hug the toilet. :) But his "friend" for a few minutes was the 1/2 bath and he was SO happy just crawling around and hugging it as he layed on his back. This only lasted about three minutes, but I was glad I had just cleaned the bathroom!
