An at home birthday party for our Pippers!

We celebrated Katie's birthday a bit early before we traveled back to KS. Here are the photos that show what fun she had! You have to check out the videos with her blowing out the candles....she is seriously funny. Thanks to Anna and Melissa for also coming up from the "lower suite" to celebrate and make it even more fun. She definitely wanted you both there!

We love you big girl!

--There are quite a few videos-so no music...enjoy!

Melissa...she added a bit of pink

Melissa, thanks for the shirt...Katie decided she needed to add some "southerness" to this Midwestern shirt. Pink accessories are necessary.

Finding out what our second blessing would be.

Justin and I, to make things more special to us, have found out what we are having (boy or girl) on dates-a few days after our sonograms. With Katie we went to one of our now favorite date spots, Vivace's! It is an Italian spot in North Raleigh, with delicious food and a great atmosphere. We even found out that Vivace means, "Life" in Italian...it was very fitting!

With this little one, we went to a French Bistro in North Hills call Croquet's. It was delicious as well! Yum! We had super baby sitters for Katie (thanks Melissa and Anna) and a great evening out. The restaurant (which we would recommend) is designed to be very open-so huge doors were opened allowing the breeze to blow in, it is decorated all black, white and red and has very attentive service. We split everything so we could try a lot of things. We had the meat/spreads/cheese/bread tray, a french onion soup, fried trout and a lemon tart. All the foods were fantastic! We opened our card during dessert and found out we are having a little BOY! And then just like Katie we walked over to JCPenny's and bought a cute little newborn outfit. We went for the brown and blue strips...I can't believe how small it is!

We are excited for this new little arrival due mid October. YEAH! We are praying for good health and a safe delivery. I am thankful to be feeling unsick now (after 12 weeks of morning sickness) and on the mend to get a few things done. We can't wait to meet and hold our little guy and Katie can't wait to "help" out. Praise the Lord for this second miracle!

Happy Happy Birthday to our little girl!

Katie is TWO!

A year is done and you're no longer one
You've played a lot inside and in the sun

You started off walking
But now you're in an actual run

You have words that make us laugh and giggle
You're the best at your dance and wiggle

We can't wait for another special year of joy and fun-so much to see, so much to do,
WOW, our little girl is turning two.

We LOVE you Pippers.
Your Mommy and Daddy

Growing Up.

Wow, I was looking at these photos and wondering where the time went. Katie is growing up and will be two years old in only a few weeks!

Katie Grace. We love you! You are growing up into a passionate, loving, exciting, joyful, beautiful little girl.
-We love the fact that you are into what you are doing,
-that you are sure of your next toy to play with is,
-you can brush your teeth,
-you swing your babies on your swing set,
-mow grass with Daddy (or Mommy-like when you fell asleep while I mowed the front yard a few days ago),
-love any animal-especially the fishies, honkers, puppies, the pet store and library are your favorite date place
-the McKenzie boys, Tracy, Beth-Catie Beth, Robin, Hunter-Laney, Hollie, Daisey, Hugh-Melissa-Anna (the other girls too!) and anyone from KS when they call are your best friends
-that you can dance with the best of them holding your hands in fists and waving them in the air
-you can jump 'almost' with both feet off the ground
-you can tell a great story
-you talk and say hello to almost any stranger if mommy and daddy are with you
-you love to hear daddy honk when he comes home after work
-you are potty training yourself and wearing big girl panties which you love
-you are doing a great job at listening and being obedient and working on a happy heart
-your sleeping is something to be learned, but Momma and Daddy are sure trying. You sleep about 1 1/2 hours at naptime and about 11 hours at night, and if we get you sleeping well, you are on the go the minute you wake up around 6:30-7:15am
-your precious, our first born, our baby girl and we are growing in love each and every day for you. May you see Jesus in us and may He soften you heart so you see your need of Him in yours.

Love, Daddy and Momma

Is she ready for a sibling?

Katie just told me that she put her babies down for a nap. They always lie face down since that is how she sleeps too. She loves the fact that there is a car seat in the house for her to play with as well. Let's hope I don't find her sibling sleeping like this someday with her special help. ...Though I doubt they will be sleeping.:)
