Traveling to Beaufort NC

...this should be on your list.  If you haven't explored Beaufort you should...its quaint, beautiful and there is lots to see.
Thank you Tommy and Julie for coming with us.  I'm glad we could share oysters and Monk fish, card games, the beach, wild ponies, bike rides, a silly house-which just means that it was awesome and great conversations.

And while in Beaufort we traveled to the NC Aquarium and explored.

First battle wound

Playing pirates and running up a wet slide equals splitting your chin.  Three stitches later we are back to playing!

Love Our Little Reader

He keeps working on his letters and we are excited to see him read short words! And this reading spot is so cozy...wanna come and read with him? I do!

Little Washington Wanderings

Katie and Owen, your Daddy is growing in us a love of little Washington NC.  This past weekend we got to visit the area while he held open houses for Moss Landing Harbor Homes and worked with a great videographer for their video.  We have decided we could definitely have a home on the river...it was a ton of fun!

First field trip-NC Estuarium-there is so much to know about river life!
Second wandering...picking flowers, making flower crowns, having older ladies stop and help us and petting lots of cute dogs of all sizes.
2nd field trip-Bath NC...Blackbeard the pirate once lived in Bath-Arrrrrrg! This is the first official town of NC.
Second wandering-K and O, its good for Mommy to spend time at the river.  I remember growing up next to the Scioto River in OH and this, river the Pamlico brought back so many great memories. Mr. Patrick took us on a river trip to see the Bald Eagle next, feel the waves splash on our faces and also found an Osprey nest.  And we turned this trip into school as well-We've learned a lot of facts about these birds!
Simple joys-sand in your hands, calm water and no schedule

Yes, you are seeing this photo correctly, we 'fished' Owen's shoe out of the river. :) It was a flip flop rescue! We employed the help from the Esturiam peeps, Ms. Jessica and a dad walking with his kids. Note-Remember when walking on a bridge/riverwalk do not hang your flip flops over the edge!
And Owen, I was ready to give up, but your extremely sad face and tears convinced us to try one more time.  Thankfully your $1 Old Navy, baseball sandal was saved.  :D
Thanks for meeting us Ms. Jessica for lunch and our flip flop adventure!
Another wandering...finishing our book sitting amongst the Loblolly Pines
Wandering around the parks
Katie, I'm pretty sure Kit and Karis went with us everywhere this weekend.  And yes, they were welcomed by all!
Little Washington..we will be back!

Oh yeah, these babies are works of art! My sister, mom and I made these earrings and sold them at the local craft bazaar. We also decorated and sold mini Christmas trees with ribbon, babies breath, mini beads, little ornaments, we were awesome...awesome.  #j&jcreations #$2.50 #owningacompanyat12 #puffypaintingonpaper
