Winter has come!

In the South one never knows when the snow will come.  We can rest assured that it will probably come at least in some form-snow, ice, sleet, a mix. The funny thing is we are either surprised when it comes or it is predicted for days and days.  And when it comes the city shuts down....it completely shuts down. It still amazes us how there is more fear over a winter storm then there is for a hurricane!

At the Hime house we feel like the white beauty comes every year towards the end of the winter season (Feb or March) after we have been blessed with a sprinkling of days at 65 degrees in January and when our hearts are ready for spring.

This season is no different. The snow came and is coming again tonight. :) We are thankful for the stillness and for the hot cocoa, the reading of chapter books, the playing outside in the fluffy or packed ice crystals and we are enjoying having Daddy home when he works from home.

We've gone sledding with friends, built snowmen, had a snow ball fight, walked to Starbucks for a warm apple cider and enjoyed talking with neighbors as they walk the quiet streets.
Below are our adventures in picture form.

Happy snow days!

How can NC get more snow and snow days than Kansas!?!?!? We thought that at least we would get that one benefit of living on the plains, SNOW!!! We are predicted to get some snow this weekend, so we will see. No snow days here are not even enough snow to play in with Paxton. Love the funny face O and the picture of K looking down! Perfect :)
