By Our Plates
Tonight we had a treat of two powerberries and I had a bouquet at our dinner plates. I want to forever remember the delight of our kids to have small surprises for us. The joy of loving is so good and simple! Thank you sweet kiddos!

100 Days
Owen you did it! Your first 100 days of school. Everyone dressed with 100 things, did crafts, ate "100" shaped cookies and let go of 100 environmentally safe balloons (that was important to your teachers :). Way to go, Buddy! You continue to love school, love homework, love your friends-Mollie, Logan, Isaiah and Eli and love your teachers.
All those together = a wonderful start to school!

Learning the trade
of capturing art, made by a sovereign and creative God...and it's all around us.
Kiddos, your Daddy has gotten really good behind a camera. He loves the warmth of the light, the way buildings and trees reflect in a puddle or river, the lines of a fence or the feelings of a moment. He can photograph a sunrise or sunset and cause me to Worship the creator. He is learning to tell the story either with homes or a town or our family. He's growing in the art of story telling. He is learning a new trade of capturing art and he's having oh so much fun! We are certainly proud of him and all his work!
*Thanks Will for capturing these!
The Nutcracker
It came and went (as in at Christmas time), but we had so much fun. We pulled out our umbrellas and dressy clothes and went to the Ballet and dinner. So sweet. So fun. So memorable.
Katie and O-thanks for taking us out to the performance and dinner!

Pippers & Her Spectecles
Katie Kate, you got some glasses! I can remember getting glasses in 4th grade and being so proud! I'm pretty sure you feel the same way. The Dr. said you don't specifically need them for near sidedness or far sightedness, but because your eyes over focus when they are tired or have read a lot, its called "hyperopia". We don't want any extra strain on your eyes when you focus! We are supposed to keep in eye (hehe) on your reading and see if you follow in the footsteps of Daddy or me...someday needing more then just a magnification. But for now these are good! Your Daddy and I think they are helping you not skip words and to see the individual letters better to sound out a new word. Plus, we think you look pretty spiffy in them! Keep learning sweet girl!
Praying for those you are reading about is such a good habit to cultivate! Today you read about Greenland and their people.
And no reading day would be complete without reading about American Girls! Caroline is todays girl!
Our Star Student
Owen, you did it! You were the star student (in Oct.) for the week! I wanted to post this as it is a true picture of you right now. You love reading, basketball, blueberries, you've learned to count to 102, you are super fast and you love your daddy-wanting to be just like him when you grow up (or a tow truck driver :).
Things you love: your family here and in KS, your friends-Bryce and the Muses, you love to eat spaghetti, apples, mango, blueberries and about everything else, you know God made you for great things and His purposes, you love legos, being outside, traveling to the beach or mountains and everything in between and you love Kindergarten.
Way to go Star Student!
Love ya!

Daily Diligence
Owen, we see your diligence as you learn to read. Each day you come home from school you empty your book bag, checking for any homework. You then placing your lunch box in the sink you change into play clothes. Finally, you read me your new list of words quickly and with very little help-way to go! You are reading so well! Good work, buddy!

Fair Southern Ladies
Two fair girls came to visit us...and we were thrilled!
Six years ago we were blessed to have you, Anna, come and live with us for a semester. You were a confident woman who was generous with your time, loved your high wedge shoes, and filled our ears with questions about life. You graduated from college and went to explore the world. From FL to CA to OR and back to GA again. We have seen your tears, heard about your sorrows and adventures and have witness your joy and rest in the everyday. Thank you for bringing with you this time, your precious little one, Lucy Kate. She is a blessing and miracle! You, are a wonderful part of our story! Press on, seek His peace within and look up...
...And Anna & Lucy Kate, thank you for coming to see us! Thank you for bringing your smiles and conversations. We want you to come back anytime. We want to come and visit you as well in GA, cross our fingers it will be soon. We think you both are the greatest and it is wonderful to hear of God's faithfulness in your lives and of His constant care of you two! The road has been rocky, but HE is writing a beautiful story for you both!

Lucy Kate, your giggle, oh my, it is infectious...especially when you watch Owen run back and forth.
And your moves...wiggles, squirmes, sorta crawl gets you places! The game Owen set up to play was no match for you.
