Independence Day

Daddy and Katie ventured to the WF fireworks for a date. And they had fun! They got some popcorn, danced around, walked the track, people watched and then oohed and ahhhed with the fireworks! Not to mention Katie didn't get to bed until 10:30-whew. But I am pretty sure it was a great memory for Katie and Daddy. She loved loved loved it!

Owen also needed a photo with daddy...like the new smile?

We watched them drive off....and played with a rake before we read books and had some Mommy time!

Next day....

I can't tell if Katie was sad she wasn't in the parade or just that we had to wait for it to start...or that she was done after my first photo of her.

We went to WF to see the parade. The kids really enjoyed it and there were TONS of kids/dogs/strollers/bikes in it. It is a dress up yourself, your bike or mode of transportation and walk down the historical district. The kids decided to walk in it next year! But this year we waved and gathered up some candy...which was a hit!

Did you see that cool Gator go by?? W O W!

Self family photo....I should look into a professional photo soon or I will be framing these type of photos, which I am sure will scare our kids someday! :)

We joined in the walking at the very end as we made our way to the local park.

Owen took the opportunity to jump on some child's hot wheels. He loved it...in case you couldn't tell...hehe

There was a fire truck to check out...and we did....Owen made the fire truck sound for a while on Saturday...

Then later that day we were in the neighborhood parade...which was HOT (a parade at 4pm on a summer day?? But as good parents we went :)

It was a super way to meet some neighbors we had never met. It is always nice to meet kids our kids ages!

Then the ice cream truck arrived and we got to whatever cold deliciousness we wanted! :)

On our way home and happy to had such a great day. It was filled with family. And a shout out to our family-we sure missed fireworks and a cook out with all you guys!

Thankful for our Independence in the USA and for those that serve to make that happen.
